Dementias Conference

The 23rd National Dementias conference will now take place on 8th & 9th July 2021 and the Dementias Co-Chairs, Professor Alistair Burns and Professor John O'Brien look forward to welcoming you to what will be an excellent event.

As we have all adapted to a new way of working, prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is clear that ensuring that people with dementia get the best possible management is more important than ever. The Dementias series, already an essential event in the calendar of all those with an interest in any aspect of dementia, provides the ideal opportunity for an evidence based update on recent best practice for dementia diagnosis, management and care.

Professor Alistair Burns and Professor John O’Brien have once again put together an outstanding agenda, with plenty of time to exchange ideas and network over the two days.

Key themes for 2021 include:
  • The impact of Covid-19 on dementia practice
  • Early progress towards dementia prevention
  • Driving and dementia
  • The importance of hearing and vision
  • CSF biomarkers and imaging
  • Post diagnosis carer support
  • Mental capacity assessments
  • What can epidemiology tell us about dementia
  • An update on genetics and dementia
  • Frontotemporal dementia
  • Lewy body dementia
  • Dementia and delirium
  • Stroke and dementia
  • Behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia
  • Palliative care

Whether you have been before, perhaps several times, or whether you will be a new attendee, you'll find this 23rd conference will be informative, interactive and enjoyable.

We look forward to seeing you in London in July 2021!

Regards,

Professor Alistair Burns, CBE & Professor John O'Brien
